Summer 2025 FAQs
Who should attend the Summer 2025 cohort? What are the expected outcomes?
The Summer cohort was designed for students who want to get a head start on their future and have a particular interest in STEM and entrepreneurship. Selected students will:
partake in exclusive events just for WIN
gain valuable and relevant industry insights and actionable next steps on how to prepare for internships and careers in the next few years
build networks for their future
be inspired and learn how to apply their academics to real-life. Perhaps even use it as inspiration for a future college essay!
form community with like-minded peers
have fun in the process! Lets not make life too serious.
Does the parent and student attend all the events?
It is highly recommended that a parent or guardian travel with the student to Houston, TX. However, it is not necessary or recommended for the parent to attend each day’s session. However, there will be several sessions where the parents can attend.
The program is designed so that parents could work remotely during the day (if that is an option) and students can build community with other students during the day.
Why only 75 students?
WIN is extremely intentional on making sure this is a valuable and impactful experience. Students are carefully selected. Equally, the events are highly curated.
A small cohort ensures that students can build community. Additionally, if and when we break up into groups, there will be no more than 25 students per group.
*There is one event- the Manufacturing panel- that could allow for more than 75 students. As such, WIN may partner with several local organizations to make this possible.
Does WIN offer logistics assistance?
Given that students may be traveling from all over and varying budgets, travel (namely, flights) and accommodations will be at your own discretion and expense.
However, WIN will provide a group hotel block in downtown Houston. Transportation start and end at this downtown hotel and will be an insured, chartered bus and will be chaperoned . It is therefore highly recommended to stay here. It is the parent and student’s responsibility for getting to and from the venue if staying elsewhere.
